Description
DUO INFLUENZA A+B-CHECK-1 is a rapid qualitative screening test for the detection of both influenza viruses types A and B from nasal or throat swab, nasal aspirate and nasopharyngeal washes.
The method employs a unique combination of monoclonal dye conjugate and monoclonal solid phase antibodies to selectively identify Influenza A or Influenza B with a high degree of sensitivity and specificity.
After collection and treatment, the sample is added to the sample wells of the reaction device.
As the test sample flows through the absorbent device, the labelled antibody-dye conjugate binds to the Influenza A or Influenza B antigens (when present in the sample) forming anantibody antigen complex. This complex binds to the monoclonal antibody in the positive reaction zone producing a rose-pink coloured band.
In the absence of Influenza A or Influenza B antigens, there is no line in the positive corresponding reaction zone. The reaction mixture continues flowing through the absorbent device, past the positive reaction zone and control zone.
Unbound conjugate binds to the reagent in the control zone producing a rose-pink coloured band demonstrating that the reagents are functioning correctly.
